The Power of Network Marketing

The Price Of The Promise

Mark Yarnell, minister in a small town in Texas, was headed for bankruptcy and just about to lose his car and home. He looked for a way out and discovered network marketing. Luckily, he had a wise sponsor.

The sponsor gave Mark “THE PROMISE“. “This business can set you free financially in one to three years..” But he also gave him “THE PRICE” “To succeed, you will have to face and conquer 4 major enemies.”

Mark said, “It’s a deal.”

Mark began by inviting 200 friends over to his house to watch a video. 80 said “No, not interested”

Mark had encountered ENEMY #1: Rejection.

He thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I’ve got120 people still coming over.” Guess what?

- He had just encountered ENEMY #2: Deception.

Mark thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I’ve got 70 people who watched the tape.” Guess what? 57 said “Not Interested”.

- He had just encountered ENEMY #3: Apathy.

Undaunted, Mark thought, “No problem. 13 people signed up.” Guess what? 12 of them dropped out of the business shortly thereafter.

- He had just encountered ENEMY #4: Attrition.

Attrition had left Mark with just one serious associate. But to this day, that single distributor earns Markover $50,000 per month.

Mark Yarnell’s story is NOT Unique!

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers – several distributors who had failed and showed the garages full of products they couldn’t sell. During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, “Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What’s your secret?”

He replied, “There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, ‘No’ and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire.” Like Mark Yarnell, Bill worked through the numbers..

Jason Boreyko, former co-founder of New Vision, told this story recently. When he was a distributor in Matol, he signed up 50 people. He heard a lot of “No’s” on the way to those 50. Jason took one man, who he knew would be terrific in the business to lunch, told him about the business and the man said “No.” Jason took the man to lunch again the next month and told him the updates. Once again the man said, “No.” Jason sent him some more information and took him to lunch again the next month. And again the man said, “No.” That went on for six months. The seventh month, something had changed for the man, and he said, “Yes.” That man made Jason over one million dollars. Jason also worked through his numbers.

According to Richard Poe in Wave Three while starting Amway, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, America’s eleventh richest people, recruited 500 people. 495 dropped out. The five that didn’t quit built Amway. All $7 billion of Amway’s business was built under those 5 people. Jay and Rich had to work through their numbers. There are many similar stories. Jeff, the top money earner in Mannatech, signed up 27 people his first month.

One might think that he is especially talented at sponsoring. Actually, Jeff will be the first to tell you that he is not talented at all.

In fact, he feels that he did very poorly. To recruit those 27, Jeff talked to 2000 people that first month. And of the 27, the only one who did anything significant with the business was Ray Gebauer, who has more than half of Mannatech in his downline.

Jeff’s word to you is that the numbers never lie. Pick your goal and then get into massive action. If you talk to enough people, you will make it!

Here’s the lesson: Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Mark Yarnell’s odds were 1 out of 50. (Jeff’s were really 1 out of 2000.) Would you be willing to go through 200 people to find the 1 who will make you $50,000 a month? Or go through 200 people to become a millionaire? Or hear uncounted “No’s” to sign up 50 people to find a million dollar person? I hope you will. It’s easier when you know the odds up front.

But here’s the catch: You have your own set of odds and you won’t know what they are until AFTER YOU’VE SUCCEEDED. So if you’ve gone through 50 or 100 people and you haven’t found 1 serious person yet, you can either give up and assume the business doesn’t work or recognize that you are working through your own numbers.

Are you willing to find out what your own set of odds is?

That means that you must pay the price for freedom. Remember that the numbers never fail you. Despite where you are in your skill level, your success is assured if you talk to enough people. And as your skill improves, so will your odds.

There is no such thing as luck in this industry. Winning big is a matter of being willing to pay the price. Are you?

Your future is in your hands! The choices which you make today will determine the course of your entire future!

Visionary Leadership-What exactly is it?

Visionary Leadership…. This is something that is essential to all successful Leaders but it is often overlooked by those who are Following the Leader.

Visionary Leadership is the ability to create a vision of a brighter future into the group of followers. This was done in this past election for the USA with President Barack Obama. He created the vision of “Change” and based his entire campaign on this.

So why was it successful? Well, to start off with. He identified with the group of followers and found that they were looking for a change, for something just a little different. He found that by helping those who were actively looking for his help, he would become the Leader to them and have their support for his cause and theirs.

Well then….how can you do this to become successful in your MLM business?

To start off with, you need to identify a niche. Identify a specific type of person that you can relate to and that you can work with in order to help them achieve their vision. You may think that approaching your business this way is not the most productive way of building a business but in truth, the more targeted you get with who you are looking to work with, the more people who are going to be joining you because you can help them!

After identifying this niche, say for example its 25-30 year old mom’s who have 2 kids and live in a rural area. After finding your niche, you will start to identify what these women are actively looking to achieve with their business. Are they looking to generate $27,000 a month or are they just looking to make $1,000-$2,000 a month while having more time with their children?

The next step for this is to sit down and identify an action plan that you can take that will allow any of these women to reach their goal in 6 months. Say for example you would need to sponsor 1 person each month for 6 months in order to reach this goal, or sell X amount of product to get commissions that will add up to $1,000. Now you know what each of them need to do.

After this, you can start to gear your marketing towards these women, find out a way to get them into a group on Facebook, or following you on Twitter or onto your mailing list which would be the best case scenario. Once they are on your list you can share a specific way for them to reach their goal…using your company as the “tool” to reach their goal.

You don’t need to create a vision in order to be successful, you can easily just piggy back on a vision that people already have and just become an assistant to them reaching their goal. OR you could become the Leader that these people are looking for and just provide them with the tools to reach their own goals.

So, all in all the Visionary Leaders are those who can find a vision and help turn these visions into Reality.

Will you become a Visionary Leader?

Super Scary!

Leadership is not only scary, it’s downright terrifying if you’ve never had to think about it.

Anyone involved with Network Marketing knows the possibilities that it can bring. It’s made millionaires out of “ordinary people.” It allows people an opportunity to start their own business, out of their home, for just a small amount of money. Usually it connects you with amazing people, and allows you to experience great products or services.

Here’s the kicker: The moment you have signed even 1 person up, it forces you to become a leader. This alone can cause people to fall flat on their faces faster than you can say “residual income.”

Now some people don’t sweat this at all. Some people get into the industry after having had great success in the “real world.” Many come in from places where they were already running the show. Their difficulty may lie in how to transform the role of leadership into the MLM model, where you are a coach and not a boss. Plus, they can sometimes struggle with the other components of their business like lead generation and prospecting.

A lot of people get involved with a company because they’ve been able to experience the product and they just love it. For example, if you’ve been using a weight-loss product through a company like Herbalife, and you’ve had great success and decided to turn it into a business, you will have no problem telling people….”Oh my goodness, I lost 50 pounds in 4 months and I’ve never felt better.” All you are doing is sharing your product story, and because people can see that you are a real person, with real results, they will respond in a positive manner. People will think, “Well, Karen lost all that weight, and now she can actually make money from it, I should try that too.”

So now Karen’s got people on her team. They want health and money too. But Karen works in a local office. She worked in an office during college, and she’s been an administrative assistant at various places every since. She sure knows how to run an office, and she’s great at keeping things organized, but she’s always had a boss. She’s never lead anyone. She’s never been an Office Manager or anything. She’s friendly and outgoing, but she doesn’t really know what to do with the people who’ve signed up under her. They don’t all have the same personality as her, or the same work habits. It’s all very confusing and difficult, but she knows it’s crucial to making the serious money in the industry. Building your team is where the really big checks come from so she’s going to have to figure it out. But how?

Well, there are many ways. Sometimes companies provide it. There are tons of leadership books out there, and very expensive courses. All of this is great, but a lot of people can’t just learn something from a book, or the book could just be talking about Leadership at a company or organization; more like being a Manager than a Leader. Many people don’t have the money for a big course, or don’t have the time to commit to a program that lasts for several months. Well, we’ve brought you something cheaper and quicker. It’s not the be-all, end-all of Leadership, but it’s certainly a great way to get a leg up and not drive yourself totally batty trying to figure out what to do with the people you sponsor. To learn more all you have to do is go here, and then the real fun can begin!

What Is Your Personal Legend?

A great book that I just read was “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. There’s more information about the book in the “Book Club” Section at the top of the page.

To start off with, you may ask “What is a personal legend?” and that’s a great question because when I started reading the book I didn’t know what it was either. Well, a personal legend is basically your dream, you know…the dream that you want to accomplish but you may be scared of taking the action steps to actually achieving it.

Some interesting things that I learned from this book are that at one point in the main characters journey, he is in great danger. A sword is drawn to his head because he had a dream about being attacked. He did not see the outcome of the attack but dreamed that it would be coming true. The stranger stated that ” When something is written , there is no way to change it” and this works well with the last post because by writing down your commitments, they are guaranteed to come true. The stranger also states to the main character that “Courage is the quality most essential to understanding the Language of the World” which is basically having the courage to follow through even in the face of death. To follow your dreams until their completion and to be courageous throughout all of the problems you will undoubtedly encounter on your journey.

Another part of the story that is great for identifying your personal legend is ” What you still need to know is this: before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. That’s the point at which most people give up. It’s the point at which, as we say in the lagnuage of the desert, one ‘dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon’” and also “Every search begins with beginner’s luck. And every search ends with the victor’s beign severely tested.”

An old proverb that the boy had heard was that it is said that the darkest hour of the night came just before the dawn.

So, what you must do is find out what your personal legend is. Find out what you dream about accomplishing and start to take action toward achieving it. Don’t be distracted by all the things that happen in your day to day life that cause you to doubt your dream.

If your personal legend is to become a Leader in your MLM, you have taken the first step in your journey of achieving your Personal Legend by reading this post. But, this is just the first step. There are going to be many obstacles throughout your journey and it isn’t going to be easy, but it will be worth it.

Your next steps are to Register for the Course and start to implement what the course teaches in your life and business. We put this course together to help you in achieving your dream and are doing everything that we can to help you reach your best. Now, the choice is yours whether to take action today or put off on achieving your personal legend until you are too old to do anything about it.

Beware though, this is a life changing event in your life. You better be ready.

Here’s a little story for you…

There’s a 30 year old man named Joe who just got involved in MLM. Joe’s an average guy, but he wants to make an extra $2,000 a month so that he can start working part-time at his job instead of working his typical 45 hour a week shift.

So Joe came online one day and found an ad stating “Build a Residual Income from home, one you can get month in and month out” so he clicked it, and decided to join up with Company X. Company X is a good MLM, it’s been around for 13 years and has been growing steadily each year, the products are good and there is good management in the company. It’s also a great time for this opportunity because this industry is growing rapidly and gaining tons of popularity.

So Joe’s working with his upline and they tell Joe “make a goal that you want to accomplish”, so Joe goes ahead and writes down “I want to make $2,000 a month starting July 16, 20__”  so great, the first step was achieved right? Well, for the most part he did take a step in the right direction. … but there’s a minor little problem.

There’s a little difference between a goal and a commitment.

Goals:
Goals are  set, sometimes accomplished, then you get another one if that first one didn’t work.

Commitments:
Commitments seem to tie back to a person’s values and therefore, it feels deeper. More meaningful.

So Joe had set a goal to make his $2,000 a month and switch to part-time by July 16th…well, July 16th comes around and Joe hadn’t gotten his goal. Ut oh.. little problem there, wouldn’t you think?

This leads to the question….what happened to that goal that Joe set? Well…he let it just sit on that piece of paper and didn’t really do much about it. He just thought “Well, it would be nice to have $2,000 a month residual income by July 16th” but he didn’t make an actual commitment to making $2,000 a month by that date.

What would have happened if Joe sat down and decided that he was going to make a commitment to make $2,000 a month. Well… here’s what would have happened. Joe would have made a conscious decision to work towards his commitment each and every day. Every single day he would do at least one thing, talk to one person or make 1 sale that would lead him to his $2,000 a month commitment….and Joe would be able to work part-time and have his $2,000 a month income from Company X!

That single thing right there could be the difference that you are missing in your business. So the only question is, will you make a Goal or a Commitment?

The difference between a Goal and a Commitment could be the difference between you making enough each month for you to quit your job or switch to part-time. The choice is yours…. I recommend making a Commitment though, but that’s just me ;-)

MLM Leadership, What Is It?

What is MLM Leadership?

What exactly classifies someone as a Leader and what distinguishes them from just an “Average Joe or Jane”?

This is something that takes some serious thought and needs to be addressed.

Many people feel that Leaders are those who have 100s of thousands of followers or millions of people who would do anything for that person.

But, a true leader is someone who is willing to make a sacrifice for a team or a group of individuals. It is the person who is in the background doing the organization, the motivation and the oiling up of the machines.

A lot of the time we confuse who the actual brains behind the operation is because they aren’t the typical person. Many times the Leader DOESN’T like to take credit for his or her accomplishments, they are happy to know that the TEAM has made a huge accomplishment.

A Leader may recognize an opportunity to take credit for all of the accomplishments of the team but he or she knows that seeing the team members succeed is the only thing that they need to see to know that they were successful themselves.

Try to become the person who works hard, teaches great information and helps to keep everyone on the team happy, motivated, and success driven. By doing this, your team will not only have more respect for you in the long run, but you’ll end up creating a guaranteed success in your MLM business. Do this and you’ll reap the rewards of a great life full of successful people and all of the prizes you could imagine.

Just remember one thing….. don’t let the dollar signs get in the way of the main thing…LEADING.

Leaders Are Teachers

How many great teachers have you had throughout your school years? How many people truly had a huge impact on your life as a person? My bet is that it was only a few teachers in school or professors in college. I know that for me there have only been a handful who truly impacted my life and I am grateful for them each day.

How about teachers that you have had since you graduated? Have you noticed more or less truly great teachers? Again, it’s most likely a small handful of people.

So how can you identify the great teachers? Well for me, I recognize that they take the way of teaching that’s typical and go the other way. They do things differently and are often a lot more effective at teaching because they take the different approach to teaching. These people are true leaders and recognize the need to not live by the status quo but to live extraordinary. It is often these great teachers who truly influence your life and cause you to become a better person because of their teaching or mentoring. You change your outlook on a subject or a sport and seem to have a greater sense of appreciation for that thing. True teachers are far and few between, sadly.

But why is this? Why aren’t there more great teachers out there, how come its only a few of them?

The simplest answer to this is that many teachers aren’t great leaders. You can easily identify this because they won’t have true passion for their work, they won’t glow with enthusiasm when speaking of their subject and they won’t get you excited about learning or doing. Great leaders/teachers are the ones who can inspire you to be great, can inspire you to step outside of your comfort zone and become better, and the people who take you from ordinary to extraordinary.

Can you become a great teacher or is it a waste of time for you? Well, the only thing that determines a great teacher is the person who is that teacher. They take the time to learn about leadership as well as take the time to research and become experts at their field of choice. This isn’t the only thing they do though, you can start to expand your thinking by increasing your creativity, learning new teaching techniques that are far-fetched for typical learning of a said subject and even find that by teaching this way, you learn more about yourself and the subject.

You want to also learn how to inspire. You want to learn how to create the feelings and emotions that are important for your said field of teaching. Also, you must lead by example and this means that you can’t be slacking off because no one is watching you. It’s at these times, when no one is watching, that you truly take the next step to become the leader/teacher you want to be.

By taking this next step, you are doing something significantly different from the rest of the teachers in the world and this is what will make you different. This is what will cause you to go from an average teacher to a true leader and someone who inspires true change in students.

Why Do I Need To Become A Leader in MLM?

This is a question that always seemed to come up when I talk with people in the Network Marketing industry. You see it everywhere you go and in all the e-mails that are supporting the “next big thing” or the “next biggest system” and sure some of these things are great.

BUT, there’s a problem with these things as well. Too often we get caught up in the system, or caught up in an “idea” and forget whats truly important, what really matters and what the true reason that people follow us and join us in our business.

The reason that people join businesses is not because the products are awesome, or the compensation plan pays you 400,000 different ways, it’s because they believe in YOU!!

They believe in what YOU can do for them. They believe that YOU have the ability to take their life and make it extra-ordinary, so that they can officially get rid of that boss that they hate. So they don’t have to drive an hour to a job that only pays them when they are there.

But, i’m not going to get into the reasons people join MLM or are looking to start their own Network Marketing business, these reasons will be found out by YOU and your prospects.

The thing is….People JOIN People….not opportunities.

If your prospect can’t relate to YOU as a person and they don’t feel that you are the Leader who will take them by the hand and lead them to the path of greatness, they will not join you. Simple as that.

Your prospects are craving for someone to be different, someone to be original and truly be the Leader.

Human nature is to flock to someone who can give us more, to follow the people who are on their way somewhere.

Imagine This:

Think of someone walking through the mall… You spot someone walking threw the mall, head held high, eyes on the prize whether its a store or an item. They know where they are going and have a set path to get there.

If you can take your eyes off of these people (which is often hard because they seem to magnetically attract your attention), you’d be able to notice that everyone else who is in the mall is also staring at this individual with a sort of “awe” and wondering what they seem to be going towards.  By having a set goal, these people distinguish themselves from the average mall walker.

So, how does this pertain to your business you my ask?

Well… to start off with, I’d just like to state that people are actively looking to join businesses each and every day and will continue to be looking to join MLM businesses, whether you become a leader or not. The great thing is, you do have a choice.

The downside of this is that because there are so many people looking to join businesses, there are just as many people looking to pick up the commission checks from these people for them signing up with their company. If you can see an opportunity here to be different and be the leader, I congratulate you!

So…there’s thousands upon thousands of distributors out there looking to sponsor these prospects. What are 97% of them doing? I’ll give you a hint….

“Join my opportunity! It’s in pre-launch, its the best ever!”

These people are spending their money on advertising their corporate website and just basically praying that someone joins them. I know that’s what I did when I first started and I lost too much money to count doing this each month.

So what about the other 3% of people?

Well…this is when it starts to gt fun. The 3% of people are the ones who are advertising themselves as the Leader.

They are spending their money on themselves and buying things that will improve their own value to the world and to their prospects. They are the ones who spend a few hundred/thousand dollars on courses, seminars, and books each month in order to just get one or 2 ideas that can help them become a better leader.

I often spend a few hundred dollars a month on books and courses and if I get 1 tip or trick or idea, then it was entirely worth it and I usually see a return of about 10-1,000 times what my initial purchase was. I don’t know about you but I’d say that pays better than advertising my corporate website and not seeing anything in return.

By becoming the leader, you are able to magnetically attract prospects to you just like the people in the mall seem to do.

So how do I become a part of that 3%? Here’s a solution for you…

The MLM Leadership Course is the first course of it’s kind to offer to take people and develop them into MLM Leaders. The reason that Christopher Aaron Hughes and Erika Thompson aka Miss Hurricat decided to create this course was because we were sick of seeing so many people struggle to become Leaders in their MLM.

We have gathered tons and tons of information from various books, courses, seminars and life experiences and put them into a course that gets the major points of leadership across in a simple solution. There are 3 main things to remember for this course and these 3 things will change your business.

Ready?

  1. Control
  2. Communicate
  3. Challenge.

That’s it! That’s all you need to know…

Can I really become a Leader?

Here’s your chance. We’re offering this course for a limited time only at the price of $9.97 and the price will be jumping up drastically after the first pilot group provides us with testimonials. The reason that we are offering it so inexpensive right now is because, well, we feel that you shouldn’t have to spend $1,000s to get this information and that we need testimonials on how the course has helped others.

Don’t wait, if you do…. well… You’ll end up spending a lot more!

Go get registered today by clicking on the “Register for the Course” link at the top of the page.

An article that I really liked by John Murphy of www.MLM.com

Here’s his post, I hope you enjoy it…

Every day I communicate with people about their MLM business and life, and the typical theme is their desire to achieve more in their current business. Yet, the obstacle of the day is never have there been more ways to completely waste your time and life under the guise of business!

The challenge for people is when they step foot into the Internet world, they are consistently bombarded with messages like, “Your upline is hiding secrets!” and “The top producers in your company don’t want this special information to be released to the entire organization.” The new people in network marketing get lost in what I will call “rabbit holes.” Remember how Alice in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland got lost in Wonderland via a rabbit hole? Network marketing newbies get lost in a search for information when what works is right in front of them! This article will show you just that—what works—three low-cost, high return, easy to do activities that will overhaul your network marketing business.

Creativity is over rated. Most business success comes from doing

boring, diligent work–from developing a system that produces

consistent results and sticking to it!

Ray Kroc

Activity Number 1: Understand what makes you money!

You only make money when you sell stuff! Sounds simple, I know, but so many people spend the majority of their time doing stuff that does not make them a dime! When you understand what makes you money, you need to spend the vast majority of time doing that activity. This means spending less time reading and following what the latest “guru” is teaching you about marketing.

I can’t even fathom the number of people in network marketing who waste their time on the Internet reading and researching stuff when they should be sticking to the following money making system to leverage the Internet:

  1. Set up a landing page.

  1. Drive 1000 visitors to your site.

  1. Call the leads you generate, see if they qualify, give information, and set a time to follow up.

  1. Follow up.

That is it! Pretty simple! If your landing page isn’t pulling the way you want it to, change it!

Activity Number 2: Document Your Time!

The next activity that produces the highest return is documenting where you spend your time. The Internet is the ultimate way to waste a whole bunch of time! People in network marketing spend hours upon hours just reading stuff and wasting time! STOP. Here is the ultimate way to gain control of your business and personal productivity: Every 15 minutes, track your time. You will quickly see how you are spending your time. More importantly, you will discover how you are wasting your time!

Activity Number 3: Simplify

Definition of Simplification: Cutting out all the crap that is not important!

I hate to play drill instructor, but people new to network marketing need to read this: 1) Call your cable company and cancel your service; 2) quit hanging around friend who brings you down; 3) start working out; 4) spend more time with your family, 5) and most importantly, spend time by yourself, improving your self!

Network Marketing is about as simple of a business as you can get. All you need to do is: generate leads, call them, and follow up! (Yes, this is overly simplified, but you get my point.) You don’t need to spend hours reading stuff online. You don’t need to read message board after message board about network marketing. You need to make this business simple, and to do that you must make your life simple!

What always amazes me is how many people say they want to live an amazing life, but then settle for their comfort zone. When you leverage simplification, it is easy to become absolutely clear on what you want in life and what you do not want! If you don’t watch television for two hours a day, you will fill your time doing something else. For example, if you are not wasting time watching TV, you might spend time working around the house or doing other activities that are productive.

In Ray Kroc’s quote above he spells it out for you. Generating leads, calling them, and following up might be boring work. However, it is simple and can totally change your life! Stick to the time-tested, proven plan! Don’t get lost in the rabbit holes!
